Here we are with less than 2 weeks until Christmas!! How is your stress level? Are you prepared with presents for all on your list and the meal planning that has to be done? I’m sure that the last thing you need right now is not having a gift for that special girl friend/female family member who means so much to you. Well I have a recommendation for the “gift that keeps on giving”!! Let me explain.
Arrowheads collected by Mom from
around Buggs Island Lake. That's hard work but is a beautiful display and a beauty from her own collection!
For as long as I can remember, my Mom wanted to give gifts to special people in and outside of our family that would last, or in other words, they would “keep on giving”. I’m talking about items such as her arrowhead collections, cross-stitch sayings/quilts, wooden items which Dad had made, and family heirlooms. Whenever we made suggestions of clothing we really wanted or electronics, she wouldn’t have anything to do with that! She always ended up finding the perfect gift for the person.
Mom gave her grandson, John, a pocket knife which belonged to PopPop. PopPop carried it in his pocket everyday.
As “perfect” and meaningful as these gifts have been, they are limited in how much they can give. Naturally every time we look at or use them, the fond memories return to us from times past. How grateful I am for those memories from each and every item!
However I am here to tell you about a different kind of gift that will keep on giving but in a different way. That gift? A registration to attend the 2020 Whole Woman Conference on February 21-22, 2020 in Clarksville!
Now you may be wondering how this gift can “keep on giving” when it is a less than 2 day event, and then everyone goes home? I’ll tell you: it is all because of a man named Jesus. If you don’t know Him, this is your opportunity to change that and check Him out. During the Whole Woman experience, you may meet Him for the 1st time and leave with questions to ponder on; you may begin a relationship with Him; you may already know Him but want to know Him in a deeper way. Regardless of the circumstances, your relationship with Him will be a gift that will keep on giving - everyday!!
He is not an inanimate object but a living, divine spirit dwelling within you once you accept Him as your Savior. He is the one who died for you and me to defeat death and sin and to give us the benefits of a divine relationship which is everlasting. Whenever we need him, He is here. It doesn’t matter where we are, He is always with us providing for our every need. We can talk to Him 24/7. Believe in Him!
So you see, this is not just an ordinary women’s conference. It is a time for ALL women - those who have varying financial situations, home-life situations, job situations, the churched, the unchurched, those who have a giving spirit, those who are questioning whether there is a God. It is simply for ALL women to come aside and experience the life-changing love of Christ.
Three years ago, my Mom gave me the registration to attend the 2017 Whole Woman Conference, and I am so grateful for that gift! This Christmas gift has been the only one to keep on giving everyday - through deeper study of the Bible, friends praying for you throughout the year, meeting God-loving friends to encourage you and walk with you on your journey, extravagant hospitality, and so many other ways. It is a different kind of gift because it lasts. Whether or not you experience Jesus during this time, you will have an experience that you won’t soon forget.
