Frost vs Sonshine

Updated: Feb 17

This morning I was driving to NC to visit a dear friend. It was a very chilly morning, and there was a heavy frost on the ground. As I was taking in the beauty of this cold morning, I heard from God. He had me to look to my left at the grass and trees. He was pointing out the ground which was in shadow and covered with frost and the ground next to it which had no frost and was in complete sunshine. They were two very distinct and separate areas, as if a line had been drawn to separate them. The grass in the shadowed, darkened area had no sun shining on it, and the frost was very evident. The grass full of light had no frost on it. The line of separation was very distinct.

I saw the frosted area as cold, dark, uncaring, unseeing of God’s beauty, unaware of anything else around it, and simply closed off. Looking at the area full of sunshine, I saw warmth, brightness, compassion, clarity of God’s creation, encouragement, and welcomeness to all.

God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

1 John 1:5 (NIV)

God’s light – His Sonshine - changes us! When His light touches or overshadows this type of cold, dark, uncaring world/person, it brings about a dramatic change - warmth, brightness, compassion, repentance, clarity of His creation. It also gives us encouragement to seek and fulfill His purpose in our lives.

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.

As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

Psalm 18:28-30 (NIV)

Let the Son of God fill you with His light! Follow Him! He can be trusted!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel
