From “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young, Jan 12, I read the following sentence:
I will not show you what is on the road ahead, but I will thoroughly equip you for the journey. My living Presence is your Companion each step of the way. Stay in continual communication with Me, whispering My Name whenever you need to redirect your thoughts.
I will thoroughly equip you for the journey. We have heard this type of statement before – God will not give us more than we can handle; He has provided us with all that we need to negotiate life, etc.
But did you notice the word thoroughly? He’ll not just give us some things He believes we might need for the journey, but He will thoroughly equip us. This means He is complete and exhaustive in His desire to provide each of us with ALL that we need for this life, for these circumstances, for these various situations we encounter.
Sarah Young goes on to write:
Let Me prepare you for the day that stretches out before you. I know exactly what this day will contain, whereas you have only vague ideas about it….However there is a better way to be prepared for whatever you will encounter today; Spend quality time with Me.
Our God is an omniscient God who knows us inside and out and knows “the plans I have for you” (Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore since “His compassions never fail” (Lamentations 3:22), He will always provide for us. He has told us what to do to reach Him by “whispering My Name whenever you need to redirect your thoughts.”
God has not only provided for mankind but for those in nature. These pictures convey the word “trust” to me. Every baby, whether a human or an animal/bird, automatically trusts its parents. They cannot survive without their parents or adults caring for them. Parents are the ones who nurture, feed, teach, and comfort their babies. Parents are the ones who guide their babies along their path in life.
God is our parent. We need Him to care for us as we follow His plan for us. In other words, we/I need to trust God completely. If He has provided us with everything we need, then we need not worry about the day, hour, weeks ahead. We and the circumstances to come are in His Hands. Trust him thoroughly!
Thanks for stopping by,
Rachel
